A NUDE BOOK COVER IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS; AND A SECOND GLANCE

Everyone has heard the saying (a picture is worth a thousand words). Javon64 the author of “The Naked Truth: What Every Woman Wants and Every Man Needs to Know, Volume One” says his new book cover will make people’s eyes do a double take.
“Never judge a book by its cover”, an overused cliché that has no relevant meaning in the minds of today’s book buyers. According to the Wall Street Journal the average bookstore browser spends eight seconds looking at a book’s front cover and 15 seconds looking at the back. Over 100,000 various titles get published each year by well known authors signed to big name publishing houses and even more self published authors no one has even heard of. Unfortunately, if a new author’s name isn’t instantly recognizable amongst the other countless books by big name celebrities he could find his book quickly passed over.
Sales Reps show only covers or jackets to book stores and give a sales pitch that averages 14 seconds. Nothing that could be said in14 seconds would give a new book its proper justice, so a book’s cover must stand out if it’s to have a fighting chance amongst the competition.
“I wanted my first book to instantly stand out amongst the host of others without taking away from the real essence and overall meaning of the actual book itself,” says Javon64. “It’s been my experience that the world doesn’t easily forget someone bold enough to step out of the box and pose nude on a book. Just ask Dennis Rodman!”
Javon says that it takes a tremendous amount of poise and confidence to stand naked before a stranger, let alone such an entire judgemental world. A confidence he owes to being raised on Detroit’s east side of town. Growing up in Detroit Javon’s grandmother always preached to always be confident in his God given abilities first, and to worry about what everyone else thinks last. The author says that while every blemish and imperfection may be on display for people to publicize, criticize, and maybe even put down, he will still be standing proud in the end. The author says that he wants everyone who sees his cover to instantly know that if he’s willing to bare it all for the cover then he’s definitely willing to bare it all inside the book as well.
Come Valentine’s Day when the book is released everyone will take one glance at the cover and pass instant judgment, whether good or bad,” says Javon. “No one should be ashamed of their body, whether fat, skinny, or otherwise. We are what we are, although I’ve still accepted the fact that some people may not be as liberated or open minded as others.”
The Naked Truth: What Every Woman Wants and Every Man Needs to Know Volume One is a book of erotic prose written in a story type format that makes for both an entertaining and educational read. The book’s main focuses are those suppressed desires and fantasies everyone has had, but due to embarrassment or the fear of being ridiculed will seldom admit. The Naked Truth in short gives readers an insightful tour of the female mind, while exploring the unexpressed needs of everyday men.
“People can relate to my work because I feel there are many people who have walked the same path as I have. Many women either don’t know what they want or are too afraid to admit it to themselves and their partners. I try to help these women by using what women have shown me and told me,” says the author. “As far as men go I want to let them know that they need to listen to their woman and know she wants more than just the typical flowers and chocolates. There is so much more to a relationship.”
Much of Javon’s inspiration for the book was drawn from his own life experiences. For years the author lived on the edge of a crazy, dangerous lifestyle, unable to commit himself to just one woman. The author hopes that by sharing his past experiences with others he can prevent men and women alike from following in his dark and dangerous footsteps.
“Much of my work though poetic has been often compared to some well known best selling authors. Zane and Eric Jerome Dickey just to name a few are two authors that I’ve been compared to that I have really come to admire. Honestly, I’ve never read any of their work to even know if our work is indeed similar. What I admire most about them is their work ethics to stay on top in this extremely competitive career, and of course their large fan base.”
Javon64 now resides in England with his wife but plans to return to his hometown Detroit while on his international book signing tour. The author has already begun writing his second book entitled “The Chapters of Ecstasy”, which is a book of steamy short stories due out in the near future.
“Every unknown author has aspirations of one day being mentioned amongst bestselling authors like Zane, Eric Jerome Dickey, Dan Brown, JK Rowling, and the great Steven King. Why should I be any different?”
